Susan goes behind the scenes today with award winning artist Lucy Pittaway. Lucy talks about the ups and downs of growing a successful business and shares some of the challenges she faced along the way. She has a global business, shipping products worldwide, and after the surprise of winning her first award in 2015 for 'Best in Show' now has quite an array to her name, most recently.winning 'UK's Most Popular Published Artist' in 2018 and 2019.
The Lucy Pittaway Limited Business was formed in May 2015 by Lucy, husband Neil, brother Steve and sister-in-law Felicity, combining their successful business careers with Lucy's artistic talents to build a bright and colourful array of art inspired ceramics, textiles, greetings cards, calendars, diaries and more alongside Lucy's bright and colourful print and canvas artwork. It's a true family affair, conducted with passion and the finest attention to detail - from Lucy's artwork itself, to the giclee printing and picture framing. Nothing leaves the Lucy Pittaway headquarters until the whole team is happy the quality is the best it can be.
Award Winning Artist :
By 2017 the business won 'Best New Art Business' at the Fine Art Trade Guild Awards, and employs a truly fantastic team of people at the Yorkshire HQ.
Lucy's artistic talent has also been recognised by the Fine Art Trade Guild, naming her the 'UK's Best Up and Coming Artist Of The Year' in 2016, followed by the accolade of the 'UK's Most Popular Selling Published Artist' award in 2018 driven by the immense popularity of Lucy's artwork through the three Yorkshire based Lucy Pittaway Art Galleries and the Lucy Pittaway website. 2019 once again saw Lucy named the UK's Most Popular Artist by The Fine Art Trade Guild, and the business awarded 'Best Art Website 2019'.
